Peptide Process R&D
BioDuro supports peptide programs ranging from linear sequences to complex cyclic, modified, and conjugated peptides. Synthesis and purification strategies are developed around the structure of the peptide, required quantity, target purity, and intended use.
Capabilities include solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), liquid-phase peptide synthesis (LPPS), cyclization, specialized modifications, conjugation, purification, process development, and scale-up.
Peptide Synthesis Expertise
Peptide synthesis can become increasingly challenging as sequences grow longer or incorporate hydrophobic regions, unnatural amino acids, structural constraints, or specialized modifications.
BioDuro works with both standard and complex peptides, selecting the synthesis and purification approach based on the needs of each molecule. Capabilities include linear peptides up to 70 amino acids, including hindered unnatural amino acids, as well as cyclic and macrocyclic peptides, modified peptides, and peptide conjugates.
A dedicated 1,500 m² peptide synthesis center in Beijing is supported by a team of 100+ experienced chemists.

Solid-Phase and Liquid-Phase Peptide Synthesis
Both solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) and liquid-phase peptide synthesis (LPPS) are available, providing flexibility as peptide complexity and required quantities change.
Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis
SPPS capabilities extend to 800 mmol and support linear peptides, cyclic peptides, and peptide drug conjugates.
Liquid-Phase Peptide Synthesis
LPPS is also available for projects where solution-phase chemistry provides a practical route for synthesis and scale-up.
Purification and Product Options
Purity requirements vary depending on the peptide and how the material will be used.
BioDuro offers peptide products with purity options including:

Available product forms include TFA, acetate, and HCl salts, along with a broad range of modifications and conjugates.
Synthesis and purification strategies can be adapted to the sequence, complexity, quantity, and target purity of the peptide.
Peptide Process Development and Scale-Up
A peptide route that works well at small scale may need further development as material requirements increase.
BioDuro combines SPPS and LPPS with purification and process development capabilities to support scale-up from milligram quantities toward kilogram-scale synthesis. Process development and optimization can be incorporated as projects transition from discovery into development.
This provides continuity between initial peptide synthesis and the larger quantities required as a program advances.
Connected Peptide Development
Peptide programs can also draw on BioDuro’s Biology, DMPK, and Formulation capabilities when additional development support is needed.
Biology capabilities include cell-free, cellular, and in vivo efficacy models, while DMPK services can support candidate assessment.
For oral peptide programs, formulation approaches can address challenges such as intestinal permeability and chemical or enzymatic degradation. Capabilities include permeation enhancers, lipid-based formulations, pH modification, enteric coating, protease inhibitors, and solubility-enhancement strategies.
